Meet Your Regional Representative
Born and bred in Sydney, I have lived in Griffith for more than 50 years where I practised as a solicitor. On retiring 11 years ago I joined Griffith U3A, having given a talk to the group the year before. I was its Secretary for 3 years, then President for 3 years, am currently its Public Officer and as well I’ve co-ordinated courses and presented topics.
On attending annual NSW Network conferences I became interested in widening my involvement in U3A and have served on the Network committee for a number of years, including as Regional Representative for South western – Monaro, Vice-President and President.
In my spare time over the years I have been actively involved in a voluntary capacity in a number of issues and interests, including the introduction of FM radio to Australia in the 1970s and its subsequent extension to regional areas, classical music concert promotion including introducing Musica Viva to television advertising, construction and management of Griffith’s Regional Theatre, marriage education, employment for the disabled and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority’s Plan. In recognition of service to the legal profession in NSW I was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the Riverina Law Society.
